About the role:
We are seeking experienced Specialist Strategy Engineers to join our Asset Management team and play a critical role in shaping the long-term reliability, performance and sustainability of our fixed plant assets across our operations. Reporting to the Superintendent Fixed Plant Strategy, you will be responsible for providing specialist engineering expertise to improve our long-term asset performance, reduce risk and maximise equipment availability across critical fixed plant infrastructure. These positions are on a Monday-Friday roster, based at our West Perth office with regular travel to site.
We currently have three positions available, each specialising in one of the following asset classes:
- Balance Machines
- Rotating Equipment
- Material Handling
These positions offer the opportunity to influence strategic asset decisions through maintenance strategy optimisation, defect elimination programs, reliability improvement initiatives and long-term asset planning. You will leverage equipment performance data, condition monitoring insights and engineering analysis to develop practical solutions that improve reliability, extend asset life and support operational excellence.
Duties:
- Develop and maintain long-term asset strategies and Asset Management Plans for critical fixed plant assets
- Lead reliability improvement and defect elimination initiatives, including the investigation and resolution of significant asset performance issues and Root Cause Analysis outcomes
- Review and optimise maintenance tactics, asset strategies and master data to improve equipment performance, reliability and lifecycle value.
- Deliver risk-based recommendations to support refurbishment, replacement and major maintenance planning activities
- Support the design, maintainability and operability review of sustaining capital and infrastructure projects
- Provide technical coaching and guidance to site-based Reliability Engineers, supporting capability development and knowledge sharing
- Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Planning, Commercial, Supply and Engineering teams to deliver consistent reliability outcomes across sites
- Engage with OEMs, vendors and specialist contractors to resolve chronic equipment issues and implement sustainable improvements
- Ensure compliance with Asset Management standards, reliability engineering frameworks, governance requirements and engineering best practice
Skills and Experience:
- Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline
- Extensive experience in reliability engineering, asset management, maintenance engineering or fixed plant engineering within the mining industry
- Proven track record delivering reliability improvements, defect elimination programs and maintenance strategy optimisation
- Strong knowledge of fixed plant assets, maintenance strategies, reliability methodologies and lifecycle asset management principles
- Advanced knowledge of maintenance management systems, asset master data and reliability engineering tools such as RCM, FMEA and PM Optimisation
Success in this role requires a proactive and technically capable Mechanical Engineers, with strong foundations in reliability engineering and asset management. You will combine strategic thinking, analytical problem-solving and stakeholder engagement skills to solve complex equipment challenges, drive continuous improvement initiatives and deliver sustainable asset performance outcomes. Working collaboratively across the business, you will influence stakeholders, provide expert technical guidance and translate data-driven insights into practical solutions that create long-term operational value.
